How Great is Our God!

What a crazy month we have had! I never thought life could be so busy. Since we have been engaged we have been gone every weekend to my parents, Carlton’s parents, and bridal expos. I have spent a lot of my time thinking about flowers, dresses, and decorations. I never realized that planning a wedding was so much work! We have a lot accomplished, but we still have a lot of planning to go.

During this month we also had the infamous meeting of the parents for the first time. It went really well much to our surprise. All parties behaved and conducted themselves in a manner acceptable by most social standards. We were very happy with the outcome of the meeting. In all seriousness, we are very fortunate to have such wonderful parents. We are both gaining wonderful in-laws.

In the middle of all this craziness, God is continuing to bless our lives. I am realizing more and more everyday what an amazing, wonderful gift God has given me in Carlton. I am excited for the wedding, but even more excited about our marriage and spending the rest of my life with this amazing, Godly man.

Our First Road Trip!

We just got back from our first road trip together and boy oh boy what a fun trip it was. We spent the weekend in Valdosta, GA for my brother Jeff’s wedding.

Things we saw:

Carlton’s first palm tree

The Atlanta city scape at night

Nickajack Lake

Valdosta State University, home of the Blazers

Things we heard:

Three piece string ensemble

My brother Jeff and new sister-in-law Lauren say “I do”

Every hymn Carlton knows sang to the top of his lungs during the 8 hour trip

Things we found out:

Carlton and John Wayne have a lot in common

My ring sparkles just as much in Georgia as it does in Kentucky!

June is a long time to wait for a wedding.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed a beautiful wedding. Here are some pics of us there with my family. Enjoy

The aforementioned title was the reaction of Bro. Mike Morrow when Jenny and I announced our engagement at Union Baptist Church (my home church) on Sunday Morning. Then the shouting commenced.

Jenny and myself would also like to announce to you that we are now engaged and couldn’t be happier. What a wondrous thing that the Lord has done. We are planning on getting married in June of this year in Benton, IL.

You can find out plans about the event by clicking on the Wedding Plans tab at the top of this page.

The Secret is Out!!!!

What can I say? I really think that this is the sweetest thing that anyone has ever done for me. When Carlton told me that he was going to tell the world how he felt about me I had no idea what he had in store!

What an amazing journey the past 11 weeks has been. God has done so much in such a short time that it is hard to believe that all of this is real. God has given me a wonderful gift in Carlton. I am excited to be a part in the work God has for him.
It is my prayer as you read these pages that you will look past Carlton and I and look to a God who is loving and faithful in spite of our unbelief. He is truly able to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.”

Jenny

Shh….It’s a Secret!

Well, for those of you who know about this website. I would ask that you keep it a secret! Jenny does not know that it exists and I am not planning on telling her for a while. It has been such a wonderful experience getting to walk in the light that the LORD has given Jenny and I.

When thinking about how the LORD has progressed our relationship in such a hasty manner I am reminded of something Paul Washer said in a sermon. He was speaking on what it means for Jesus to “Come Quickly”. He stated that this does not mean that Jesus will return in the next year or decade or century. What it means is that WHEN Jesus returns he will do more in one instant than a thousand men could do in a thousand years and hence, come quickly.

That is what I feel like the LORD has done in bringing Jenny and I together. He has accomplished more in the short time we have been together than I would have ever imagined possible. Not only that, but we both recognize how he was sanctifying us prior to our relationship for each other. He has been at  work preparing us for one another even before we knew.  He was even doing this even in spite of the fact that we both thought He had forgotten about us. Bless Him for His Sovereign Goodness.

Bless you for taking the time to read this sight.
By His Grace and For His Glory,

Carlton
